If you’ve allowed someone to friend you, you might get checked in. That’s just how it is. You’re on a social network. That’s part of the deal.

I usually inform people I’m doing it. I’m not really asking, but I’ll certainly refrain if you speak up quickly (because I’m doing it… like now).

If you don’t want this activity, don’t allow it in your settings or work with your associates on the idea of asking you or not doing it. Don’t expect that someone should follow some code of “etiquette” or even understand (or respect) your wishes. It might not happen.

You are in control of your settings. That is all.
